In November 2023, the Leading Off Foundation connected with Juan Sanchez, coach of Detroit Western baseball.  Coach Sanchez and his incredible staff have built a program that has won 15 straight PSL Championships, and they are now poised to make some noise at the state level.

Leading Off has stepped in to support their efforts to compete with the state’s premier teams.   Support includes the donation of critical equipment that, until now, was beyond the athletic program budget.

Future plans include a dedicated training facility to create an environment where young athletes in Southwest Detroit are empowered to learn, grow and succeed both on and off the field, guided by inspiring mentors in their own neighborhood.
